2. Product Information, Allergens, and Dietary Disclaimer
2.1. Product Description: We take care to describe and display our Products as accurately as
possible. However, as our rusks are prepared in small batches, slight variations in size,
colour, and appearance may occur.
2.2. ALLERGEN WARNING: Our Products are manufactured in a kitchen environment where known
food allergens are present. Our rusks contain, or may contain traces of, the following
allergens: Wheat (Gluten), Dairy (Milk, Butter), Eggs, Nuts (including Peanuts and Tree
Nuts), Soya.
2.3. Cross-Contamination: While we adhere to strict hygiene and food safety standards, we
cannot guarantee that any of our Products are 100% free from traces of allergens due to the
shared nature of our production facilities.
2.4. Customer Responsibility: It is your responsibility to read the product information and
this allergen warning carefully. By purchasing our Products, you acknowledge and accept the
risk of potential allergen cross-contamination. Beskuit Jouself shall not be held liable for
any allergic reactions or other health-related issues.
2.5. Storage and Consumption: Please store your rusks in a cool, dry place in an airtight
container. For the best quality and taste, consume the Products by the "Best Before" date
indicated on the packaging.
3. Ordering and Payment
3.1. Eligibility: To place an order, you must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid
payment method.
3.2. Order Process: Placing an order via our Website constitutes an offer to purchase the
Products. We reserve the right to accept or reject any order at our discretion. A binding
contract is formed only when we have processed your payment and sent you an order
confirmation.
3.3. Payment: All prices are listed in South African Rand (ZAR) and are inclusive of
Value-Added Tax (VAT) where applicable. Payment must be made in full at the time of ordering
through the payment gateways provided on our Website. Orders will not be dispatched until
payment has cleared.
4. Delivery
4.1. Delivery Areas: We deliver to addresses within the specified areas in South Africa as
outlined on our delivery information page.
4.2. Delivery Times: We aim to deliver your order within the estimated timeframe provided at
checkout. However, these are estimates and we are not liable for any delays caused by
circumstances beyond our reasonable control (e.g., courier delays, traffic, loadshedding).
4.3. Receipt of Delivery: It is your responsibility to ensure that someone is available at
the delivery address to receive the order. If no one is available, the courier may leave the
package in a safe place or return it to the depot. Risk in the Products passes to you upon
the first delivery attempt. Additional charges may apply for redelivery.
5. Cancellations, Returns, and Refunds
5.1. Cancellations: You may cancel an order only if you notify us before the order has been
dispatched. Once dispatched, an order cannot be cancelled.
5.2. No Returns for Perishable Goods: Due to the perishable nature of our food products, we
do not accept returns or offer refunds for change-of-mind purchases, or for Products that
were not to your personal taste preference.
5.3. Damaged or Incorrect Orders: In the unlikely event that your order arrives damaged, or
if you have received the incorrect Product, please contact us within 24 hours of receipt.
You must provide your order number and clear photographic evidence of the damage or
incorrect item. At our sole discretion, we will offer a replacement, a store credit, or a
full refund for the affected Product. We will not consider claims made after 24 hours from
the time of delivery.
6. Intellectual Property
All content on this Website, including but not to text, graphics, logos, images, and the
"Beskuit Jouself" name and brand concept (including the hashtag #beskuitjouself), is our
exclusive property and is protected by South African and international copyright and
trademark laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any of our intellectual property
without our express written consent.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Beskuit Jouself (including its owners and employees)
shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting
from the use or inability to use our Website or our Products. Our total liability to you for
any claim arising out of your purchase shall not exceed the total amount paid by you for the
Product in question.
8. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Beskuit Jouself from and against any and
all claims, liabilities, damages, and costs (including legal fees) arising from your use of
our Website or your breach of these Terms.
9. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of
South Africa. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in
Pretoria, South Africa, to resolve any dispute arising out of these Terms or your use of our
